From the top of the Pas du Lac 2 bubble lift, follow the trail and revel in the breath-taking scenery of the surrounding valley and flanking mountains. Featuring the Vanoise Nature Reserve, Lac du Tueda boasts a multitude of natural delights and unspoilt wildlife, plus if you head down to the lake you’ll find a small restaurant ideal for a recharge after the hike. From here you can either walk or catch a bus back to Méribel Mottaret. If you want to push yourself a bit further, take the Pas du Lac 2 bubble lift down and hike uphill. Hike TwoThe second hike starts near the ending of the first, in Lac du Tueda and is marked as very difficult. Use your map to find Route 26 and once at Lac du Tueda, walk to the far end of the lake along the flat trail. Upon reaching the far side you’ll see a trail that leads up to the mountain towards Les Mûres des Rouges and Plan des Mains. Once there you need to follow the trail along to Côte Brune, where you’ll find a fork in the road. Take the left turn until you find another fork where again you need to turn left. Then the trail heads upwards and starts to twist around the mountains, heading up to Lacs du Borgne. The route earns its high difficulty rating here, as you climb up to Mont Vallon to earn a stunning view of valley below.
